Two-Week Blog Hiatus Incoming

Hey everyone!

The original plan for this week’s blog was going to be a comical short story about Elwin from Project Spellcheck blundering his way down a snowy mountain face. As much as I wanted to have this blog ready for you today, I’ve unfortunately got something a little less funny or short story-y in mind.

Over the past couple weeks, I’ve felt like I’ve been making great progress in regards to formulating, outlining, and writing for my various off-the-website writing efforts, especially regarding Project Wardens/Heritors of Ruin. After several months of suffering a combination of writer’s block and creative gridlock, I finally found myself a new approach as to Vincent and Liam’s backstories—specifically, who and where they are at the beginning of the story—and I finally feel as though I’ve gotten back in the saddle with it.

However, when it comes to the work I do for my blog, I can’t help but feel… stalled, as though I’m trying to drive with the parking brake up. I alluded to this feeling during my closing thoughts on last week’s blog, but I was hopeful that I could shake off that feeling and continue on as normal. Unfortunately, I would not be writing this update if that wasn’t the case, nor would it be easier for me to write this little update than the blog that was supposed to go up today.

As important as it’s been to me to maintain a consistent blog-publishing schedule, making sure said blogs are quality work and not a catalyst for mental burnouts should be equally important. To that end, and also because I want to focus on my other writing projects for a little bit, there will be no blogs planned for the weeks of January 30th or February 6th.

I’ll be back for the week of February 13th with a silly Valentine’s-themed short story. As for what comes after that, I’m not entirely sure. Maybe I’ll find a second wind for web blog writing like I did with Wardens, or maybe this’ll finally mark the start of blogs being a fortnightly phenomenon.

Regardless of how things turn out these next few weeks, I’ll nonetheless appreciate your viewership and support. As you’ve heard me say before, the goal of running this website is to make sure I’m always writing and improving as a writer, and that won’t change no matter what approach I take to running this site.

Whether you’re a first-timer or a website regular, please feel free to check out my previous works while you’re here. Otherwise, I hope you’ll look forward to fresh writing content on February 13th!
